Hi-Ho Book Buddy!
It seems like the whole country is covered in snow, so let’s embrace it!
Jingle-Jingle by Nicola Smee will have you adventuring in the snowy landscape in no time.
If you are a fan of Clip-Clop, you’re in for a treat. The characters are back in Jingle-Jingle and they are going on a sleigh ride together. But when they get to the top of a snowy hill everyone wants to ride down, even Horse. Can they all fit into the sleigh? Of course they can! But what will happen next?
PLOP! PLOP! PLOP! into the snow — but what happened to Horse!
Toddlers will take joy in the silly turn of events and ask for this book over and over again.
It’s a perfect book for the snowy weather we’re all experiencing. Enjoy!
And here’s a Youtube video reading of the book, if you’d like.
Activity Guide for Jingle-Jingle: Handprint Mittens!
Sensory activities are some of my favorites for toddlers. It has them exploring their surroundings using other senses, which engages different parts of the brain. This simple activity gets their hands nice and “painty” and also doubles as a cute ornament for you. It’s a win-win!
1. Cut out mitten shapes with construction paper.
2. Cut out a “cuff” and glue stick it on the bottom
3. Dip your Little’s hand in whatever color paint you desire.
4. Hole-punch the top and tie a ribbon through.
Now you have a functional craft + keepsake that you can keep through the years!
Happy Reading and Wintering!
